I would suggest some of Haba's other wood toys. My son loved the one with the triangles and the one that looks like a fish. It's durable, the wooden stain stays brightly colored and is non-toxic, and you only have to wipe it with a damp cloth to clean it. It was even cuter in person than in the picture and it made my 3-month-old sons smile and reach forward. Total winner. Rating: 5 / 5 This makes a really pleasant, delicate, clacking sound. He loves it and transforms into SuperWhy easily by himself. It's great for pretend play and the cape and mask are easy on/off and durable. The Why writer light (part of the SuperWhy signature quote "whywriter highlight") no longer works. It worked Christmas morning and by 5pm on Christmas evening, it no longer lit up. Granted, my son had the costume on all day but i felt it should be more durable. Was dissapointed about that but overall it is very cute. The wooden toy feels good in your hands. The paint does not chip. Max is extremely well made. the only negative is when he throws Max down from upstairs because he likes the noises Max makes as he lands on the tile below. Max has survived it all. He really likes dressing up and pretending that he's Super WHY, but the cape doesn't fasten very well so it constantly falls off. The eyeglasses could've been a little bigger too. I'd still recommend this to anyone Super WHY fans, but that's only because I haven't seen anyone else make a dress-up kit for Super WHY.
